Due to COVID-19
All community outreach is postponed.
MHI has two main components to our community outreach.
1. School Presentations
We go to elementary schools in the Los Angeles area and give interactive presentations in order to teach students about the importance of mental health. Topics we currently cover include:
All MHI members that present at the elementary schools are UCLA student volunteers certified in Mental Health First Aid and Youth Safety Training.
If you are interested in having MHI speak to the kids at your elementary school, send us an email at [email protected] and we will get back to you on possible dates as soon as possible!
2. Health Fairs
MHI partners up with other volunteer groups that hold health fairs. We set up a booth with games and stress tests to introduce or create discussion on mental health topics, and we hand out pamphlets with information and local resources.
